e-reading behavior

This project is centered in the behavioral changes and impact in reading habits, practices, customs and social meanings of books as a consequence of the introduction of digital devices, especially e-readers as a new way of consuming books.

Most of the available studies are centered in the devices itself and in the publishing industry strategies and there are very few studies and evidence centered in consumer behavior and user preferences toward e-books and e-reading.

From the simple act of giving a book as a gift, or the role of physical encyclopedias in the age of Wikipedia, reading in public spaces or sharing our favorites books with others. The objective of this project is to explore and understand what are these changes and what are the implications of the proliferation of this new format in the consumption and use of books.
